Fire destroys house, properties in Kantbalu Tsp

A fire broke out at a motorcycle shop in the town of Kantbalu in Sagaing region at about 11 pm, leaving six people homeless, injuring three people.

 

The cause of the fire was attributed to a cigarette fire thrown away near the motorcycle shop owned by U Htein Lin. The cigarette fire set fire to the motorcycle cushion in the shop and continued to spread to a nearby house.

 

Local firefighters tried to put out the fire using four fire engines and three water trucks. The firefighters managed to control the fire in 23 minutes after it had started.

 

A shop, a two-storeyed house, six motorcycles were lost in the fire. Three people were slightly injured in the fire and six people became homeless due to the fire. Local police pressed charges against U Htein Lin in connection with the fire.—Aung Win Nyein
