THE Yangon Region government will give the green light to operate Thingyan pavilions under rules and regulations.
The regional government formed committees to celebrate Myanmar’s traditional Maha Thingyan Festival for the year 1386 ME.
The regional government will nod the applicants who want to operate the Thingyan pavilions depending on water availability, traffic congestion and size of the pavilions, following the set rules.
Those interested must seek permission through the Engineering Department (Road and Bridge) of the Yangon City Development Committee, along with the recommendation of the respective General Administration Department. Only after the Yangon Region government will check the location and strength analysis to grant a permit, the construction can be undertaken.
The application to construct and host the Thingyan pavilions needs to be submitted between 25 March and 7 April. The form and rules and regulations documents are available at the YCDC’s Engineering Department. Those who submit them after the deadline will not be considered anyhow.
