TATMADAW members, Myan­mar Police Force members, firefighters, rescue teams from foreign countries, departmental personnel, members of social welfare associations and resi­dents tirelessly participate in ongoing rescue and rehabilita­tion efforts in the quake-affected areas.

 

Lt-Gen Thet Pon from the Office of the Command­er-in-Chief (Army) overviewed the removal of debris at col­lapsed buildings at Kaunghmu­daw Pagoda in Sagaing with the participation of Tatmadaw members, police members and other volunteers. He also visited the sites of clearing debris at Aungmyaylawka Pagoda, Mahi­yingana Pagoda, SunU Ponnyas­hin and Shinpin Nankaing Pago­das, the brick bridge of Buddha Museum and Cultural Museum and the nunnery in Ananda My­itta Corner in Sagaing. Lt-Gen Thet Pon cut the ribbon to open the construction materials sale for the earthquake victims at the 700th Anniversary Stadi­um in Sagaing and viewed the construction of the affordable house. At the practising high school of Sagaing University of Education, he inspected prepa­rations for students to conven­iently learn education in the 2025-26 academic year and the construction of the temporary school building. He also fulfilled the needs of quake-affected peo­ple at the relief camp in Htonbo Ward with healthcare services. Lt-Gen Thet Pon inspected the beautification of Basic Educa­tion Middle School Branch in Htonbo Ward and the construc­tion of the extended building of the BEHS Branch in Yannaing Ward of Sagaing.

 

Lt-Gen Soe Tint Naing from the Office of the Command­er-in-Chief (Army) observed reconstruction measures at BEHS No 1 in Amarapura Town­ship, clearing of debris at the collapsed buildings at Basic Ed­ucation Post-Primary School in Ohdaw Ward, Nagayon Pagoda and Maha Wizayayanthi Stupa. He also oversaw the reconstruc­tion of pagodas and stupas in their original state.

 

Lt-Gen Myo Thant Naing from the Office of the Command­er-in-Chief (Army) attended the ceremony to provide relief supplies to families from the damaged houses at the hall in Singaing. Officials from the Kyaukse District General Ad­ministration Department pre­sented bags of supplies contain­ing 16 construction items to the earthquake victims. He visited the fibre cement plate factory of Sannshinn & Brother Co Ltd in Taungyin Village-tract of Sin­gaing Township and viewed the production of Target brand fi­bre cement plates. He observed sales of construction materials to the people for the ninth day to rebuild damaged pagodas and religious structures. In the af­ternoon, he inspected the clear­ing of dangerous buildings with the use of heavy machinery in Ayemya Kyilin Ward of Kyaukse.

 

The inspection boards formed under the SOP have ex­amined 6,947 earthquake-affect­ed buildings under the standard operation procedure in Kyaukse District. They have classified 6,611 buildings of public resi­dence to be repaired. A total of 336 out of 321 dangerous build­ings have been cleared. Three of the remaining 15 buildings are being cleared under the relevant organizations, while 12 departmental buildings have been submitted to ministries for inspection. Lt-Gen Myo Thant Naing inspected the damaged staff housing of District GAD in Kyaukse and the land plot donated by well-wishers for the construction of temporary staff housing. — MNA/TTA
