Visitors throng Mt. Naw Bubaw on New Year’s Holidays

Thandaunggyi 1 January

Mt. Naw Bubaw, one of the landmarks of Thandaunggyi Township, Kayin State was crowded with visitors during the New Year’s Holidays.

Buses bound for Mt. Naw Bubaw stopped at Thandaung and changed its occupants who are to proceed to Thandaunggyi where the mountain is to light track. The visitors continued their journey in light tracks. When visitors were in season, a light truck has to run three or four times from Thandaung to Thandaunggy three or four times at a fee of K 15000 per trip, said a light truck driver.

Most visitors were here during travelling seasons with many who took rest at lodgings at the foot of the mountain, according to U Saw San Hla, secretary of Mt. Naw Bubaw Committee.

In addition, arrangements were made to prevent traffic congestion using rotating system.
