Visitors throng Martyrs’ Mausoleum, Bogyoke Aung San Museum, Secretariat Building

A total of 76918 visitors observed the 72nd Martyrs’ day yesterday at the Martyrs’ Mausoleum, the Bogyoke Aung San Museum (Yangon) and Secretariat Building (former Ministers’ Office).

 

At the Martyrs’ Mausoleum in Bahan Township, 397 members of Sangha, 102 nuns, 18571 men, 21377 women paid tribute to martyrs. A total of 29 foreigners also visited there.

 

Similarly, a total of 18200 visitors including 385 members of Sangha, 126 nuns, and 8 foreigners observed at the Bogyoke Aung San Museum (Yangon) in Bahan Township where the car used by Bogyoke Aung San; Bogyoke Aung San’s historical photographs; Martyrs’ Day commemorative stamps, currencies and coins with image of Bogyoke Aung San are displayed to public. Furthermore, the Secretariat Building (former Ministers’ Office) in Botahtaung Township, the colonial-era building where General Aung San was assassinated in 1947 together with his colleagues, was also crowded with people yesterday. A total of 18242 visitors: 8505 men, 9240 women, 313 Sangha, 93 nuns, and 91 foreigners: visited there. — MNA
