Pyigyidagun, 23 January
A ceremony to honour the victorious athletes who have won prizes in the Mandalay regional chief minister’s trophy inter-township chess tournament and Mandalay Open Chess Championship at the General Administration Department in Pyigyidagun Township this morning.
First, Regional lawmaker from Pyigyidagun constituency Dr. Chit Ko Ko and Township Administrator U La Yaw gave congratulatory speeches. Next, the regional legislators and local authorities presented certificates of honour to the contestants. On behalf of the victorious athletes, U Aye Ko, leader of the sports contingent representing Pyigyidagun Township expressed words of thanks.
Those present then posed for a documentary photo. The departmental officials, guests and residents also attended the ceremony.—Than Zaw Min (IPRD)
