Truck loaded with coal overturns in Kalaw, no casualties reported

One man was injured after a 12-wheeled truck carrying coal overturned in Kalaw Township, Southern Shan State on 3 July.

           

The accident happened near an exit of Kalaw between milepost 70 and 70/1 on the Union Highway at about 9 a.m. yesterday. The 12-wheeled truck driven by a man identified as Zaw Min, 39 years old from Magway was heading to Thazi from Kalaw and flipped over after the driver lost control of the vehicle. The incident is attributed to have started from a faculty braking system of the truck.

           

The truck driver was slightly hurt in the incident and was sent to a nearby public hospital in Kalaw. The local police filed a charge against the truck driver over reckless driving.—IPRD
