Thai gov’t deports undocumented migrant workers to Kawthoung

Kaw Thoung, 18 July

A total of 61 Myanmar migrant workers including 50 men, nine women and two children were sent back from Thailand through Kawthoung border gate on Wednesday evening for not holding proper documentation.

The Thai government had arrested them as they did not have work permits, and were found holding expired border passes.

The authorities including police, immigration and labour officers provided necessary assistance to them. The returnee workers are sent to their places of origin after being provided with health care.—Kyaw Soe (Kawthoung)
