A ceremony to donate relief supplies to storm victims was held at Mon national school in Aukseik Village, Ye Township in Mon State this morning.
On the occasion, Chairman of the township natural disaster management committee and Township Administrator U Kan Win, departmental staff, members of the Myanmar Red Cross Society (MRCS), village administrators and volunteers from local social organizations presented relief items to storm victims. Approximately 1,927 local people from 392 households, seven monasteries, one basic education high school and a Mon school in Auksaik Village, Ye Township in Mon State have been affected by strong winds.
The gusty winds hit the area on 8 January, causing 392 homes damage in Auksaik Village. The estimated loss of property due to the gust is more than Ks. 35 million.—IPRD
