SAC Chairman Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, his wife Daw Kyu Kyu Hla enjoy Samañaphala Day

As today is the full moon day of Tazaungmone as well as Sa­mañaphala Day, one of the sig­nificant days of Buddhist people, Tazaungdine and lighting fes­tivals are being held yearly as Myanmar’s traditional culture.

 

On the significant days, Buddhists take Sabbaths dedi­cated to the Lord Buddha, recite Pathana Desana and Paritta, donate Kathina robes at monas­teries and do meritorious deeds as well as pay homage to pago­das and stupas.

 

Chairman of the State Ad­ministration Council Command­er-in-Chief of Defence Servic­es Senior General Min Aung Hlaing and his wife Daw Kyu Kyu Hla, Vice-Chairman of the State Administration Council Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Command­er-in-Chief (Army) Vice-Senior General Soe Win and his wife Daw Than Than Nwe, Chief of the General Staff (Army, Navy and Air) General Maung Maung Aye and wife, senior military officers of the Office of the Commander-in-Chief and their wives, and Union level persons and their wives offered oil lights and multicolour lights, flowers and water, and 1,000 oil lamps and happily enjoyed the Sa­mañaphala Day on full moon of Tazaungmone and Tazaungdine lighting festival.

 

Roads, buildings and trees in the compound of the Office of the Commander-in-Chief (Army) were also illuminated in addition to the funfairs in com­memoration of the Tazaungdine light festival which families of the Office of the Command­er-in-Chief (Army, Navy and Air) happily enjoyed.

 

Likewise, lighting festivals, the Shin Uppagutta Pujaniya festival and setting oil lamps adrift in the water took place at religious edifices in regions and states. People joined the festival and lit the oil lamps as well as participated in the charity fairs.

 

Similarly, as now is Tazaung­dine holidays, recreation cen­tres, beaches and parks in re­gions and states are crowded with picnickers to enjoy the full moon of Tazaungmone. — MNA/ TTA
