Pyithu Hluttaw representatives asked questions to the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Electricity and Energy on the second day of 16th regular session yesterday.
MP U Ar Moe Si from Khaunglanphu constituency asked about appointments of required teachers for the three primary schools in his constituency in 2019-2020 academic year. Deputy Minister for Education U Win Maw Tun replied the appointments of teachers transferred from other areas and new teachers for these schools in the 2020-2021 academic year.
MP Dr Aung Naing from Thabeikkyin constituency asked about opening a government technical high school. The deputy minister replied that the Department of Technical, Vocational Education and Training Department prioritizes new school plan at the district cities and it is not possible to set up such school in this constituency.
MP U Stephen from Kengtung constituency asked about power supplies from national grid for Kengtung Township and Mongpyin Township. Deputy Minister for Electricity and Energy U Khin Maung Win replied that Mongpyin and its nearby 15 village and Kengtung and nearby 55 villages will have access to electricity from national grid after constructing Namhsan-Mongpyin-Kengtung power line.
MP Daw Ni Ni May Myint from Taungup constituency asked about requirement of new building for middle school in Natmaw village of her constituency; MP U Moe Shwe from Putao constituency asked upgrade of middle school into a high school in his constituency in 2019-2020 academic year.
Deputy Minister U Win Maw Tun replied the questions.
MP U Sai Tun Aye from Mongshu constituency asked about operation of coal-fired power plant in Tikyit area of Pinlaung Township in line with existing law, regulations and directives. He also raised a question to review the three-year permit for this plant; MP U Khin Cho from Hlaingbwe constituency about renegotiating the contract for transfer period of a hydropower project being operated under BOT system to the government; MP U Nay Myo Htet from Kyauktada constituency raised a query about completion of LNG plant projects which are being implemented by tender system; MP U Nay Htet Win from Singbaungwe constituency asked for immediate solutions on the delay of electrification in villages under the National Electrification Programme.
