PyinOoLwin flower festival attracts 600,000 visitors

The 13th PyinOoLwin flower festival has drawn 600,000 visitors, an increase of 20 per cent from the previous year, said an administrator with the National Kandawgyi garden of PyinOoLwin.

“Around 1,000 travellers visited per day when it rained. But 50,000 people came to the festival on other days,” said the administrator.

The 13th PyinOoLwin flower festival, being held from 15 December to 15 January, is exhibiting over 200,000 flower species.

The festival has been jointly organized by the National Kandawgyi garden, the Garden and Friends Company from Thailand, and the Fukusuke Company from Japan. For local visitors, entrance tickets are priced at Ks500 per child and K1,000 per adult. For foreigners, the price is US$3 per child and $5 per adult.
