Khamaung Village is located 86 miles long from Khamti Township while Mathtaung Village is 91 miles away from Khamti Township. Both villages are hard-to-reach areas and local people solely rely on their shifting cultivation. Food security became a growing challenge for local people due to poor production of their crop plantations affected by pests. This problem impeded socio-economic development of local people.
