Over 60,000 acres of summer paddy cultivated in Southern Yangon District

Around 60,000 acres of farmland have been earmarked for growing summer paddy in eight townships in Southern Yangon District, according to a source from the Department of Agriculture under the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation.

         

 

Arrangements have been made to cultivate more acres of summer paddy than its scheduled acres. The Department of Agriculture planned to grow 60,202 acres of summer paddy in Thanlyan, Kyauktan, Thongwa, Kayan, Twantay, Kawhmue, Kungyangon and Dala Townships in Southern Yangon District.

         

 

So far 69670 acres of summer paddy have already been grown in the district by the department.—Thet Khaing (Thanlyan)
