Over 130,000 students in Mandalay Region register for matriculation exam

A total of 133,000 students in Mandalay Region have registered for upcoming matriculation exam which is set to be held on 11 to 20 March, according to Deputy Director Dr. Thein Zan from the Department of Myanmar Examinations at the supervisor training course opened in No.14 BEHS on 27 December.

Last year, there were a total of over 123,000 students who registered for the matriculation exam. In comparison with last year, there are more than 10,000 students who register for the exam this year. 

“Last year, a total of 203 examination centers were opened in Mandalay Region. This year, arrangements are being to open more examination centers than last year. Now, supervisor training course are being opened for holding the examination in the region” he added.

Over 890,000 students registered for nationwide exam in 2018-2019 academic year and in 2019-2020 academic year, a total of 970,000 students have registered for nationwide exam. 

“The rate of students who appear for the matriculation exam have increased year by year. Therefore, arrangements are being made to open over 1900 examination centers across the nation although a total of 1886 centers were opened last year. Most of students from Yangon, Mandalay and Ayeyawady Regions register for the exam more than other states and regions” he added.

In 2018-2019 academic year, a total of 119,210 students in Mandalay Region took part in the examination and of whom 43,075 students passed the exam. The pass rate in the region was 36.13 percent and the region saw the highest figure of six-distinction achievers.
