One person was killed and seven others injured after being hit by a speeding truck in Kyaukpadaung Township, Mandalay Region.
The accident occurred at a tea shop in Aung Mingalar Ward, Kyaukpadaung Township at about 4:40 p.m. when a 12-wheeled truck smashed into the crowd after the driver lost control of the vehicle. A man named U Tin Moe, 67 years old died on the spot and seven others were injured in the incident. The injured people have been transferred to a public hospital in Kyaukpadaung.
Action is being taken against the motorist identified as Aung Pyae Phyo (alias) Aung Aung, 35 years of age over reckless driving by the local police station.—MOHA
