Nursing training school, gas-fired power facility to be built in Kyaukphyu

Kyaukphyu, 3 February

Chief Minister of Rakhine State U Nyi Pu together with Rakhine State Minister for Electricity, Industry and Road Transport U Aung Kyaw Zan inspected two separate sites for construction of a nursing training school and a gas-fired power plant in Kyaukphyu Township yesterday afternoon.

First, the chief minister and his entourage were briefed about the location of a nursing training school by concerned officials. The chief minister and his party also heard reports on progress for construction of a gas-fired power plant in Gone Choin Village in Kyaukphyu Township. According to U Aung Thu Tun, Manager from Zeya & Associates Co Ltd, the plant is one of the five power generation facilities to fulfill the increased electricity demand of the country. Once all projects completed, 363 megawatts of electricity would be generated to distribute power to local people in Rakhine State.

Afterwards, the chief minister and his party looked round the project and gave instructions to the site officials for timely completion.—Phyo Wai Lin (IPRD)
