Myanmar Coffee Association offers intermediate coffee processing course in PyinOoLwin

The Myanmar Coffee Asso­ciation (MCA) will conduct a Coffee Processing Intermediate Course at the MCA Knowledge Center and MCG coffee factory from 11 to 15 January 2024.

 

This intensive course is arranged by the MCA. It will offer know-how and standards of coffee processing to meet international standards for coffee beans, coffee process­ing methods, and its products through practical and technical approaches.

 

This course is suitable for those who will be engaged in coffee processing, who like to expand their knowledge of cof­fee processing systematically, and who are willing to be in­volved in coffee institutions or commercial businesses.

 

It will also cover the histo­ry of coffee, coffee processing, basic principles and practice of coffee standards, influencing factors to coffee processing, characteristics of ripe coffee beans, methods of coffee har­vesting and benefits, analysis of coffee bean samples and quality control, device to measure cof­fee moisture and refractometer to test sugar content and tests for coffee ripening and coffee processing methods from har­vesting, processing, roasting to brewing.

 

Moreover, technical and practical approaches to the Wet Processing Method, Dry Pro­cessing Method, and Honey Pro­cessing Method, index scores during step-by-step coffee pro­cessing from ripe coffee beans, ideal ratio for coffee, special­ty coffee, coffee fermentation -microbe to coffee flavour and yeast inoculation introduction, requirements for coffee pro­cessing and post-processing practices will be unveiled as well.

The trainees can receive a completion certificate of the Myanmar Coffee Association and the course fee is K650,000. Members of the MCA can save 50,000 at a discount.
