MRCS donates relief items to displaced people in southern Shan State

The displaced people in Lankhio Township, Shan State were furnished with relief items by the members of the Myanmar Red Cross Society (MRCS) on 12 January.

 

A group of local authorities led by Lankhio Township Administrator U Aye Chan and volunteers from the MRCS donated relief supplies to the displaced people who left their homes due to armed conflicts in Mongpang Township and they are now taking refuge at a philanthropic center and a temporary rescue camp in Lankhio Township. The conflict victims were provided with humanitarian aid such as blankets, mosquito nets and medicine worth Ks. 1.18 million.

 

A total of 79 displaced people from two villages in Mongpang Township have fled to Lankhio Township since 6 January, said U Sai Thein Zaw Oo, commander of the township red cross society.—Sai Zaw Latt (IPRD)
