THE Myanmar Press Council launched its second journal­ism training course for 2025, which began on 9 May and is being held weekly on Fri­days at the Council’s office in Botahtaung Township, Yan­gon Region.

 

At the opening ceremony, Council Chair Dr Tin Htun Oo delivered welcoming re­marks. A total of 20 trainees from State-owned and private print media, broadcast media, and online platforms are at­tending the course.

 

The programme includes subjects such as basic jour­nalism, journalism English, mass communication, online journalism and print media journalism. Lessons are taught in both the Myanmar and English languages.

 

Veteran journalists U Ko Ko Oo (Executive Director, MDEA), U Maung Maung Myint Thein (Satmhu Tek­katho), U Ye Min Soe (Maung Mauk-Wutlon) and U Myat Soe (Hlaing) are serving as volun­tary instructors.

 

The Myanmar Press Council plans to continue organizing such training courses with future sessions to feature both internal and external journalism experts as instructors. — ASH/KZL
