Man injured after being shot by unknown gunman

A man was taken to a public hospital in Tachilek, Eastern Shan State after being shot in his right shoulder and right breast by unidentified gunman on Monday.

Witnesses at the scene of the crime say the victim was with three others on a motorbike when an unknown man armed with a gun riding a motorcycle arrived at the location and fired four shots at the victim. Witnesses say the shooting was for no apparent reason. The gunman then fled from the scene in an unknown direction. The victim identified as Aung Pyae Phyo, a security guard from a hotel is now receiving medical treatment at a public hospital.

In connection with the case, the police inspector confirmed the incident and said the investigation into the case is ongoing.—IPRD
