A ceremony to present relief supplies to flood victims took place at a basic education middle school in Ngapyininn Village, Singu Township in Mandalay Region on 23 July.
First, Regional Lawmaker Dr. Kyaw Naing Oo encouraged the flood victims who becamed relocated due to rising water level of the Ayeyawady River. Next, the regional MP and Assistant Director of the Department of Disaster Management under the Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement Daw Zar Ei Mon presented relief items and cash worth more than Ks. 6.4 million contributed by the local government and the DDM to the flood victims through ward and village administrators.
The event was also attended by Township Administrator U Soe Naing, members of the township disaster management committee, departmental officials and locals.—Min Zaw Oo (IPRD)
