Local police force seized different sizes of raw jade stones in a vehicle search in Indaw Township, Sagaing Region on Sunday.
A police squad led by Police Captain Thet Tin from Indaw Myoma police station together with eye witnesses stopped a four-wheeled truck near Kyaungon Junction on the Shwebo-Myitkyina Road at about 6 p.m. on 13 January. The four-wheeled truck was on the way to another location from Myitkyina and was driven by a man identified as Myint Pe from Mogaung Township in Kachin State with his colleague Tin Win from Thabaung Township in Ayeyawady Region.
The police discovered various kinds of raw jade stones weighing 939.25 kilograms in the vehicle. Action has been taken against the two motorists over transportation of illegal goods by the local police station.—Lu Aung
