Joint Meeting between Myanmar Delegation led by Deputy Prime Minister and Union Minister for Foreign Affairs and Delegation led by Special Envoy of ASEAN Alternate Chair on Myanmar held in Nay Pyi Taw

The Joint Meeting between the Myanmar delegation led by U Than Swe, Deputy Prime Minister and Union Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Re­public of the Union of Myan­mar, and the Delegation led by Mr Alounkeo Kittikhoun, the Special Envoy of the ASEAN Alternate Chair on Myanmar, was held yesterday at the Min­istry of Foreign Affairs, Nay Pyi Taw.

 

At the Joint Meeting, U Ko Ko Hlaing, Union Minister for the Ministry of the Chairman of the State Administration Office 2, Lt-Gen Tun Tun Naung, Un­ion Minister for Border Affairs and the Chairman of National Solidarity and Peacemaking Negotiation Committee (NSP­NC), Dr Soe Win, Union Min­ister for Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement, U Lwin Oo, Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs, and concerned senior officials from relevant minis­tries, Dr Kao Kim Hourn, Sec­retary-General of ASEAN, Mr Lee Yam Ming, Executive Di­rector of ASEAN Coordinating Centre for Humanitarian Assis­tance on disaster management (the AHA Centre), and respon­sible officials from ASEAN Sec­retariat were present.

 

During the Joint Meeting, both sides cordially exchanged views on matters pertaining to the status of providing hu­manitarian assistance in My­anmar and further cooperation between Myanmar and ASEAN in the field of humanitarian as­sistance.

 

In the evening, the Depu­ty Prime Minister and Union Minister for Foreign Affairs hosted a working dinner for the Special Envoy of the ASE­AN Alternate Chair and the members of the delegation at the Park Royal Hotel, Nay Pyi Taw. — MNA
