Inter-village road project completed by 100 pct. in Palaw Tsp

Palaw  7 May

The construction work of an inter-village concrete road linking Pawut Kone village with Pawut Phya village in Palaw township, Myeik district, Taninthayi region has been now completed by 100 percent, according to U Kyaw Zay Ya, a staff officer from the township rural development department.

The department spent K 310 million on the inter-village road project which measures a mile in length, 12 ft. in width and seven ft. in thickness.

The road was formerly an earthen road and there were cave-ins on the road when flooded in rainy seasons, causing great troubles to schoolchildren and local residents in doing health, educational and economic activities. Now, the road became a concrete road, easing local people’s movements between the two villages.

The new concrete road will bring economic and social benefit to 597 households in three villages with a population of 2629 people, speeding up commodity flow.—Htoo Wai Yan (IPRD)
