The township administrator’s cup inter-department football contest was opened at Myoma sport ground in Kyunsu Township, Taninthayi Region yesterday morning.
First, the participating teams took position in the pitch and saluted the acting township administrator. Next, Acting Township Administrator U Kyaw Thiha explained the purpose of the event. In the opening match of the competition, the team representing the Ministry of Home Affairs beat the squad representing the Ministry of Education 2-1. The tourney runs from 18 to 25 November with four participating teams.
Also present on the occasion were departmental staff, chairman and members of the township football association, employees from the Sports and Physical Education Department, and football fans.—Si Thura Aung (Kyunsu)
