A combined team under the management of the Customs Department confiscated three items not declared in the import form at Myanmar Industrial Port in Yangon on 1 March, including 648 kilogrammes of tapper rod, worth K2.907 million.
In Yangon, inspections by the Illegal Trade Eradication Special Task Force found six undeclared items in a warehouse and 11 rooms at Samanea Market. These included 215,000 chargers of Vivo, Oppo, and Mi phones valued at approximately K251.9 million. Additionally, 1,000 pieces of Izumi and HM Piston automobile accessories were found, along with a bus carrying these items, worth approximately K335.59 million, seized at Ywathagyi Dry Port.
In Mandalay, inspection teams found 916 kilogrammes of raw jade bracelets, 200 large boxes of Mond cigarettes, and 960 kilogrammes of goat viscera, worth K48.832 million. A King Long Bus carrying these illegal items was also seized, with a total value of K93.832 million.
In Bago, inspections revealed four items, including 11 used Japan-made refrigerators, worth K3.62 million, and 450 balloon sweets and 1,000 grammes of Yacht bread sheet valued at approximately K10.155 million. Two vehicles were seized, a Nissan Caravan and a Toyota Hiace, worth approximately K40 million, altogether valued at around K88.775 million.
In total, 14 cases worth approximately K521.104 million were captured on 1 March, as announced by the Illegal Trade Eradication Steering Committee. — MNA/ TMT
