High schools open in Chauk Township

A ceremony to open a basic education high school was held in Thwaynet Village, Chauk Township in Magway Region on 7 September.

The Chief Minister of Magway Region Dr. Aung Moe Nyo, Speaker of the regional parliament U Tar, Regional Minister for Social Welfare Dr. Khin Maung Aye and Director of the Department of Education Daw Khin Than Oo unveiled the new school. Then, the chief minister and concerned officials delivered addresses and member of the school board of trustees U Ye Maung spoke words of thanks.

Next, they attended the opening of a two-storey facility built by the Southeast Asia Crude Oil Pipeline Co Ltd (SEAOP) in the compound of a basic education high school in Gwaybin Village. President Assistant of the SEAOP Mr. Li Wen Bin handed over documents relating to the school structure to the director of the Education Department.

The facility is of reinforced concrete structure and measures 140 ft. in length, 30 ft. in width and 24 ft. in height. It consists of two toilets and was built with more than Ks. 247 million.—Kyaw Moe (IPRD)
