As many as 3.465 kilos of heroin worth K 270 million was seized on Madin-Labin road in Waingmaw Township, Kachin State yesterday.
Acting on a tip-off, police members led by Police Inspector Sai San Phay from Myitkyina Anti-Narcotic Squad-2 searched a motorbike, driven by Whan Htanki,33 and She Einkyan, the pillion rider and seized heroin weighing 121 grams from them.
Further search led to the seizure of 3.344 grams of heroin from their home of Wuyan village, totaling 3.465.
The police station has filed charges against them under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law. –Win Naing (Kachin)
