Pakokku, 10 February
An invitational Futsal competition marking 105th birthday anniversary of General Aung San kicked off at a Futsal pitch in Pakokku Township, Magway Region on 8 February.
The inter-school Futsal tourney categorize into two contests— U-9 Boy’s and Girl’s event and U-13 Boy’s and Girl’s contest. A total of 24 teams—12 girl teams and 12 boy teams- are taking part in the U-9 Boy’s and Girl’s event while similar teams also are participating in the U-13 Boy’s and Girl’s contest. The tournament is jointly organized by the township football association and local entrepreneurs.
The final matches of the contests are scheduled to take place on 13 February, the birthday of Myanmar’s Independence hero General Aung San in conjunction with a prize awarding ceremony.—Ko Zaw (Chemistry)
