Kyaukpadaung 1 January
A ceremony to provide free eye care services was conducted in Shwe Nadi Monastic School in Kyaukpadaung Township, Nyaung-U District, Mandalay Region from 29 to 31 December. Those who underwent eye surgical operations were provided with glasses and medicines yesterday.
With the sponsorship of Nadi Shwe War Company, the free eye care services were conducted to local people in Kyaukpadaung and nearby villages. Those who need surgical operation were provided in the township eye surgical ward by the ophthalmologists led by Pro: Dr. Aye Tun Oo. It is the third of its kind with the provision of accommodation and food to patients the Nadi Shwe War Company and other donors.
During three-day charity, a total of 1,997 eye patients underwent eye treatment, of whom 275 receiving major operations, two minor operation, 993 being provided with glasses and 727 being given eye dropper.
