Fire kills 2, injuries 2 in Thantlang

A 90-year old elderly man and his grandson have died in a fire in Thantlang Township, Chin State. The fire broke out at a two-storey house of U Chun Lian (alias) U Zam Bil from Ward-1 in Thantlang Township early this morning.

The fire is believed to have started from ember and burned three houses t0 ash. The house owner and his grandson Maung Kyone Hue Lian, a 10-year old primary student were killed and two women sustained burn wounds in the incident. The estimated loss of property due to the fire is about Ks. 25 million, according to the township General Administration Department. A group of firefighters led by Chairman of the township management committee U Aung Swe Myint rushed to the scene of fire.

Firemen brought the blaze under control at around 2:20 a.m. and completely extinguished 15 minutes later by using three fire engines and water tankers. In connection with the case, the house owner has been taken action by the local police.—IPRD
