Fire broke out in Thandwe

Thandwe, 17 January

 

A man died in a fire broke out at Ward-8, Thandwe, Rakhine State at about 1.40 am.

 

The fire started from overheated Change Over of a shop which was engulfed, causing a loss of K 75,000 and leaving U Kyaw Zay Yar (a) Ashei Gyi, 38, dead.

 

Local firemen led by Commander of Thandwe Township Fire Department U Nay Lin Kyaw and local residents rushed to the scene and put out the fire with the help of two fire engines. The fire was put under control at 2 am the same day.

 

Thandwe Township police station has filed charges against U Thein Zaw Oo, the shopkeeper, for his negligence of fire. –District (IPRD)
