Essay, painting contest to mark International Day of Democracy held in Hlaingbwe Township

An essay and painting contest to mark the International Day of Democracy which falls on 15 September was held at the community center of the Information and Public Relations Department in Hlaingbwe Township, Kayin State yesterday.

First, an official from the Information and Public Relations Department said the purpose of the event, highlighting the essence and criteria of democracy. A total of 22 high school students took part in the essay competition titled, “Let’s formulate democracy to ensure peace for people”.

Similarly, altogether 18 students participated in the painting contest and the prize winners will be awarded by the IPRD.—IPRD
