Dubai to reopen to foreign tourists from July 7

The government of Dubai says it will allow foreign tourists to enter from July 7, if they meet certain conditions.
Dubai is the commercial center of the United Arab Emirates. It made the announcement on Sunday. In the middle of March, it barred foreign tourists from entering to prevent the spread of the coronavirus.

Conditions for entry include undergoing a PCR test at the site of departure and presenting proof that the test was negative. Having health insurance that is valid at medical institutions in Dubai is another condition, which must be met.

The government also says visitors will be required to undergo a test at a Dubai airport upon arrival, if proof of a PCR test cannot be presented. Those who test positive will be required to isolate themselves at a facility.

The number of coronavirus cases in the UAE has been on the decline recently. The daily tally has been less than 400. Beaches, hotels, and entertainment facilities in Dubai have been reopening gradually, while implementing anti-virus measures.

Dubai is moving to reopen to foreign tourists earlier than other emirates in the UAE, as its economy is reliant on industries, such as tourism.
