Bhamo, 11 January
As many as 5,790 stimulant tablets were seized from a woman near Manya village, Mansi township, Bhamo district, Kachin state on 10 January.
Police members led by Police Sergeant Mai Aik Hlaing of Anti-Drug Squad-1 of Bhamo together with local authorities, acting on information, searched a motorbike driven by Ma Thin Thin Khine, 37, from Manya village to Hanhtet village and seized 5,790 stimulant tablets which were concealed in her handbag.
Upon interrogation, Ma Thin Thin Khine confessed that she was asked to carry the seized drugs by Ma Khin Mar Lwin (a) Mar Lwin, 30, of Mawrawady ward of Mansi, for K100,000.
Action is being taken against the two according to the law by Bhamo District Police Station.—District IPRD
