DRD spend Ks. 810 million to implement rural development tasks in Shwebo District

Ks. 810 million is being spent on implementation of rural developmental tasks in Shwebo District, according to a source from the Department of Rural Development under the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation.

The DRD drew up the Village Development Plan in the fiscal year 2018-2019 and implemented the scheme in 81 villages in Shwebo, Wetlet, KhinU, Debayin, YeU and Teze Townships. Ks. 10 million has been allocated to each village in the district. 54 roads and bridges, four water supply tasks, 13 rural electrification facilities, five schools, four school fences and staff housing are being built with Ks. 810 million and Ks. 323 million contributed by local people.

The initiatives have begun in Shwebo Dsitrict since 2017-2019 fiscal year and the scheme covered 105 village, thereby contributing to socioeconomic development of the region, said an official from the DRD.—Tun Myint Aung (Shwebo)
