BAY INFERENCE: Weather is partly cloudy to cloudy over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and generally fair elsewhere in the Bay of Bengal.

 

SPECIAL FEATURES: According to the observations at (05:30) hrs MST today, yesterday's the Tropical Storm(Pabuk) over the South China Sea has reached over the Gulf of Thiland and is centered at about (125)miles Southeast of Nakhon Si Thammarat(Thailand) and about (240)miles Southeast of Kawthaung (Myanmar).It is forecast to move West- Northwestwards, cross near the Nakhon Si thammarat(Thailand), South of Kawthaung(Myanmar) today evening and reach to Andaman Sea.

 

FORECAST VALID UNTIL EVENING OF THE 4th January, 2019: Rain will be fairly widespread in Taninthayi Region and isolated in Kayin and Mon States. Degree of certainty is (80%). Weather will be partly cloudy in Bago, Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions, Kachin, Shan, Rakhine and Kayah States and generally fair in the remaining Regions and States.

 

STATE OF THE SEA: Occassional Squalls with rough seas will be experienced Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon –Taninthayi Coasts.Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (40)m.p.h. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters.Wave height will be about (8-10) feet Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon –Taninthayi Coasts  and about (4-6)feet off and along Rakhine Coasts.

 

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of scattered to fairly widespread rain in Yangon and Taninthayi Regions, Kayin and Mon States.

 

FORECAST FOR NAYPYITAW, MANDALAY AND NEIGHBOURING AREA FOR 4thJanuary, 2019: Generally fair weather.
