Mong Khet, 9 January
With the aim of ensuring swift flow of commodity and saving time and money, construction work of rural road has been implemented since the second week of July this year in Pakan village in Mong Khet Township, Kengtung District of eastern Shan State and now, all the projects have been completed 100 percent, according to an official from the District Department of Rural Development.
Officials from the District DRD inspected the completion of section-2 of the road on January 9 and stressed the importance of quality construction and maintenance.
The rural road measuring six furlongs in length, 12 ft. in width and nine inches in volume was constructed by a tender wining company with K 31.32 million allocated by the state Government.
The road benefits over 190 acres of farmland of 251 local people from 53 households in the village, helping them transport rural products to the markets in a timely manner.—Maung Khaing(DRD)
