A ceremony to provide cash assistance to farmers who suffered flood damage in Moegaung Township, Kachin State was held at the meeting hall of the Township Department of Agricultural Land Management and Statistics this afternoon.
A total of K 2.58 million were provided to 77 farmers at a rate of K 10,000 per acre whose crops were destroyed due to flooding in Taungnee and Htobu villages in the township. At the ceremony, one of local people on behalf of farmers spoke words of thanks to the officials.
MP of State Hluttaw, Township Administrator, departmental personnel and locals in the two villages were in attendance.
