Buddha statues with 250 years unearthed in Tada-U

Buddha statues of 250 years were unearthed at Monetizu Ward in Tada-U, Mandalay Region on 2 February, according to Tada-U Myoma Police Station.

A total of 52 stone and bronze Buddha statues fallen into ruin were unearthed in the cave of the ancient Kyauktawgyi Pagoda at Monetizu Ward in Tada-U Township.

The Buddha statues were found by U Sein Mya Thaung of Yadtan Ward in Tada-U Township when he was trying to take honey. U Sien Mya Thaung informed the police station and the Ancient Culture and Research Department. The police and departmental officials were at the scene and confirmed that the Buddha statues are 250 years old.

All unearthed old Buddha statues will go to Inwa Ancient Archeology Department.
