Black opium seized in Pinlebu

Pinlebu, 18 January

 

Black opium weighing 1,470 ticals worth K 70 million were seized in Pinlebu, Katha District, Sagaining Region yesterday.


Acting on a tip-off, police members led by Police Sub-Inspector Lwam Wai Aung from Pinlebu Myoma Police Station together with eye witnesses searched a motorbike driven by Thar Htay (a) Thar Htay Win, and his accomplice Aung Kyaw Myint, of Magyikone village and 770 ticals of black opium worth over K 37 million.

 

Further information has resulted in the seizure of a motorbike of Thein Saung of Magyikone village along with 700 ticals of black opium believed to be worth over K 34 million.

 

The local police station has filed charges against the three under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law. – Lu Aung (Katha)
