Abe leaves for Netherlands, UK

Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe has left for the Netherlands and Britain for separate summit talks with the countries' leaders.

Abe left Haneda airport in Tokyo on Wednesday morning for the Netherlands, the first leg of the trip.

Before his departure, Abe told reporters that he is making this trip in his capacity as Japan's prime minister, as well as the chair of the Group of 20 summit to be held in Osaka, Japan, in June.

Abe added that he hopes to confirm mutual cooperation with the leaders for the success of the G20 summit.

Abe said he plans to convey Japan's view to May later this week , in the hope of ensuring that Brexit will not harm Japanese companies operating in the country, as well as the global economy.
