A total of 31 AA and PDF mem­bers entered the legal fold yes­terday. These returnees includ­ed seven AA members from different townships of Rakhine State and Ayeyawady Region, and 24 PDF members from dif­ferent townships of Ayeyawady and Mandalay regions.

 

The handover ceremony took place at Ayeyawady Hall of the South-West Command Headquarters with the attend­ance of Ayeyawady Region Chief Minister U Aye Kyaw, Commander Brig-Gen Aung Kyaw Khine and other relevant officials.

 

At the event, the return­ees handed over three MA-1s, two M-22s, one grenade, 338 bullets and six magazines. The chief minister and commander rewarded K25 million for five rifles, K300,000 for one grenade, and K9.3 million per returnee, totalling K34.6 million.

 

Those who intend to re­join the legal framework are encouraged to promptly con­tact and report to the nearest Tatmadaw bases or police sta­tions. They will be welcomed and accepted, provided with the necessary assistance and support, and cash rewards for any arms and ammunition. — MNA/KTZH
