Maubin, 22 September
One person was killed and one other seriously injured in a head-on collision between two boats in Maubin Township, Ayeyawady Region on 20 September.
The accident took place when a boat operated by Lin Lin Naing, 21 years old collided with another boat coming from opposite direction driven by U Hla Thein, 49 years old together with his wife and daughter under a bridge made of bamboo in Paylaung Village, Maubin Township at about 9:30 p.m. on 20 September. One boat operator identified as U Hla Thein died on the spot and another boat driver named Lin Lin Naing sustained severe injuries in the incident.
The injured person was sent to nearby public hospital and both boat operators have been taken action by the local police.—MOHA
