A total of 13 people have been killed in more than 10 water-related accidents across Mongolia so far this year, the country's National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) said Friday.
Five of the victims were children, the NEMA said in a statement.
The negligence of citizens, leaving children unsupervised and swimming after consuming alcohol were the main causes of the water-related accidents, it said.
As summer comes, the number of people who come to lake and rivers increases dramatically, the agency said, urging people to prevent potential accidents.
