Slight earthquake strikes Sedoktaya Township

No immediate reports of damages or casualties were reported following a slight earthquake which was recorded yesterday night, the Department of Meteorology and Hydrology (DMH) announced.


An earthquake with a magnitude of 3.5 on the Richter scale, with its epicenter inside Myanmar jolted about 17 miles southwest of Sedoktaya Township in Magway Region. It was recorded at 8:13 p.m. at a latitude of 20.32°N, and longitude of 94.03°E, with a depth of 29 kilometers and about 75 miles east- northeast of the Sittway seismological observatory, said the DMH.—DMH
