Slight earthquake hits Khamti Twsp

No immediate reports of damages or casualties were available following a slight earthquake which was recorded this afternoon, according to a source from the Department of Meteorology and Hydrology (DMH).


An earthquake with a magnitude of 4.5 on the Richter scale, with its epicenter inside Myanmar hit about 23 miles north of Khamti, Sagaing Region. It was recorded at 7:48 a.m. today at a latitude of 26.34°N, and longitude of 95.70°E, with a depth of 66 kilometers and about 124 miles south-southwest of the Mytikyina seismological observatory, the DMH announced.
