Seven people sustain minor burn wounds in grocery fire

Seven people were reported hurt slightly in a grocery fire in Neltamein Village, Htantabin Township in Yangon Region.

The fire broke out at a grocery owned by U Myo Min Oo at about 9:40 a.m. on 26 March. Upon receiving phone information about the fire, local firefighters along with three fire engines rushed to the scene of blaze. In addition, around 150 firemen bringing 10 fire engines, two water tankers, three administrative vehicles, and fire distinguishers joined in the fight against the flame.

The fire consumed one two-storey house and four diesel barrels, injuring seven people. An estimated loss of property due to the fire is Ks. 4.16 million and itwas completely put out by the firefighters a few later.

The cause of the fire is still unknown and an investigation into the case is ongoing by the local police.—Zin Min Htike
