School building in Yusamoso village in Demoso Tsp. handed over to Education Dept.

A school building at the Basic Education High School (Branch) in Yusamoso village in Demoso Township, Kayah State was jointly opened by Department of development for Border Areas and National Races, Kayah State Government and Nippon Foundation this morning.

The occasion was graced by Kayah State Minister for Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation U Boss Ko, State Minister for Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation U T Yal, MP of State Hluttaw, departmental personnel, responsible person from Nippon Foundation, local residents, teachers and students.

First, State Minister for Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation U Boss Ko spoke words of thanks. Then, a project director from Nippon Foundation also clarified the purpose of the donation and handed over proper documents relating to the school facility to an official from the Education Department. 

Next, State Ministers, officials from State Development Supervisory Office and State Education Officer’s Office and Project Director from Nippon Foundation cut the ceremonial ribbon and planted a tree to mark the opening of school building. They then looked around the school building.

The Nippon Foundation has signed the Memorandum of Understanding named Education for Peace and Development Project on 25 May 2018. The foundation will construct 20 school buildings in the state during five years. Two school buildings were constructed in 2018, five in 2019 and five school buildings will be constructed in 2020.

The cost of the newly constructed facility is K 41,587,010 funded by Nippon Foundation and it is 90 ft in length and 30 ft in width.
